Matthew founded his law firm with the goal of building a community of caring, understanding, and philanthropy centered around the needs of its clientele. After a few years of growth and changes, the final product was The Advocates personal injury firm. Matthew is passionate about helping those in need and believes the purpose of The Advocates is to do just that. He makes it his mission to do everything in his power to assist his clients in their recovery.
Matt earned his law degree in 1991 from the University of Utah’s Law School and began to practice personal injury law in the following year. He began a solo practice in Midvale, Utah before moving his office to downtown Salt Lake in 1995. A year later, Matt purchased a building which served as the headquarters of The Advocates for more than 20 years. In 1998, Matt and a group of partnering attorneys joined forces and became the Driggs, Bills, & Day, P.C. personal injury law firm, otherwise known as The Advocates. Though the firm began in Utah, it has seen considerable growth and now operates branches in several states across the West, each owned or co-owned by Matt. Since beginning his career in personal injury, Matt has helped compensate his clients to the tune of over $400 million dollars.
When Matt isn’t in the Salt Lake City office, he spends time with his wife and five wonderful children. He is passionate about self-betterment and traveling the world. Matt’s bucket list is brimming with adventure, including visiting every continent and seeing every Wonder of the World.
